Something’s not right

toxic pills .... where am i

Re: toxic pills .... where am i

@Bow @Historylover @hanami @Dimity @Gwynn @StuF @Appleblossom  and everyone who has answered to my post. I really appreciate your care and time answering my post. it makes me sad that with this current psychiatrist she has taken away my choice.  it is more than that though  i just feel i have no control over my being...... my life. pdoc said she would not work with me if i go off meds. family have said they want me to stay on meds. so i have to stay on meds ...... you know the other day i forgot  the word olive ....

Re: toxic pills .... where am i

Hi @greenpea

I can certainly understand where you are coming from. There are days where I just want to throw my meds in the bin and not take them. I have spoken to my pdoc about this before and he doesn't want me to go off them of course.

The side effects are not good either.

I hope you can talk to your supporting team about this and make the decision with them. In the meantime I am here for you hon, which ever path you decide to go down.

Lots of love 💕

Dont go for all or nothing @greenpea

There is a big range between the two.  Surely your pdoc knows that.

Dont worry too much about the memory.  We all have our senior moments, and sometimes the scare about dementia is alarmist.  We need to be able to grow old gracefully, with little slip ups here and there.

I have always had a problem with memory.  In the rare moment when I was in a social situation and someone was actually listening to me, I would goldfish and blow my social chances cos the brain was so overwhelmed it would take too long to connect to my mouth. I can laugh now, but it was mortifying for me when I was young.

Love you Bella

I'm sorry to hear you feel you have no control @greenpea I hope you will be able to open up a discussion with your pdoc and meet in the middle. You deserve to feel heard 💚

Hello @greenpea this link came in my e-mails this morning.  It is a free summit on brain health being hosted by some of the world's top neurologists.  It may be good as another string to your bow to combat brain degeneration.  I know if I dont sleep I have memory issues so you may have to do something about your sleep schedule ❤️

Hey @Appleblossom

I agree that the worry about dementia can be alarmist! My mother-in-law is in her late 70s and the minute she repeats herself or forgets something everyone whispers behind her back 'is it dementia'. Like she can't just have a few slip ups!

Wise words @Appleblossom 😊

Re: toxic pills .... where am i

@greenpea

take the pills Pea

himself has memory problems which make him angry or frustrated or sad

but without the pills he is a monster

much better than winding up on the ward again, surely

@greenpea

What's going on greanpea?  The simple stress in this decision would be hard so I wonder if there are other options for you that might help to give you back your power over your memory that does not involve the medication..

Do you do any regular brain training, such as crosswords, puzzles etc?
