Not Coping

Re: Not Coping

Hey @Birdofparadise8 ,

You sound lonely. Isn't there anyone in the hospital you can talk to? I feel like it would be good to make the most out of the stay?? That's just my thinking. Otherwise, I am here 🙂

Re: Not Coping

Hi @tyme

No, I'm so sad and alone. There isn't really anyone to talk to.

Re: Not Coping

Are you able to ask for support from the staff there @Birdofparadise8 ? I'm really mindful that you are there for a reason and to make the most of it.

Is something driving this loneliness and sadness?

Re: Not Coping

If that's how you feel in there, maybe it's something to tell your drs about? Or perhaps, community outreach is more beneficial for you that inpatient stays? @Birdofparadise8  Who knows?

Re: Not Coping

I'm always sad and lonely @tyme

There are the nurses, but I don't want to bother them.

Just as I am typing this, a nurse came in lol. She wanted to see how I was with the med changes. I said I haven't noticed anything positive or any side effects. I find it hard to tell people I don't know how I feel. I so badly want to cry, but I don't want someone to come in a see me crying. See, I'm just my own worst enemy.

Re: Not Coping

Only you can challenge your own thoughts. Remember what you psych has said to you. And remember you have heaps of support around you right now. It's about YOU doing something to make the difference. No one can do it for you. ECT may work for a time, but ultimately, you need to do the work to challenge your unhelpful thoughts.

Sorry to sound so harsh. I've been through it the very hard way. I hope to save you from waiting a decade. Trust me, it's not because I don't care @Birdofparadise8

Re: Not Coping

I know, but it's so hard. I don't know how to do it. I just don't believe it when I try and challenge them. I feel so fake @tyme

Heaps of support mmm not sure. They don't really come and sit with me and talk. They only do it when they have to. The Pdoc is the best I like her.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 i would really suggest you speak to the nurses and the support staff. that is why you are there. dont waste the time your spending there. you seemed desperate to go there for support but dont want to utilise it.
please consider spending time with the nurses and support staff. that is why you are there and you can also speak to them about things you cant here. the forums are a great support but your now also in a supportive environment where you can have those supports there 24/7 whenever you need them as well. if you dont tell them how bad you are or how your feeling they cant help you.

sorry to sound harsh but this opportunity can be hard for people to access and youve been one of the lucky ones who have been able to go when youve asked for that support. please utilise your time there

Re: Not Coping

Okay, I'll leave here then. Have a good night.

Re: Not Coping

you dont have to leave @Birdofparadise8 but your in a facility and really need to utilise your supports and practice the skills your psych and pdoc are giving you.
