Not Coping

Re: Not Coping

Hi @RiverSeal

Things could be better.

How are you?

Re: Not Coping

Hey @Birdofparadise8

I finished my assessments... yay 🎉

Had lunch and just been out orchid hunting. Found two not quite developed 🌱🌱

Re: Not Coping

Hi @Blackbird11

I'm so happy for you. I bet you are excited.

I'm sad

Re: Not Coping

I'm hearing things could be better and your mood is low at the moment @Birdofparadise8. Thank you for letting me know! I'm wondering if have you reached out to the hospital staff at all to talk about how you feel today? I know when I've been in the hospital it helped to talk to the nursing staff and others.

I'm doing well thank you and looking forward to the end of the TAFE year coming up real soon.

Take care RiverSeal

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8, I’m laying low this afternoon.I hope today is kinder for you than yesterday 💖

Re: Not Coping

Yes, I don't know why it has been so low the past few days. I did tell one of the Nurses this morning, but she would have finished by now.

What are you studying at TAFE @RiverSeal

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8  do you think your mood is low because discharge is just around the corner? Sometimes when I’ve been inpatient for some time, it can feel scary knowing that I’m going home soon. I’ll be leaving the 4 walls of safety, around the clock care and support and it means that I’ll have to rely on myself a bit more to make sure that I am ok. And things kinda have to go back to normal life.

It’s pretty common. And often once we get home we can feel pretty yuck and overwhelmed and sometimes spiral a bit. But gotta put on those big girl pants and soldier on.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 it would be ok to let the afternoon shift know too particularly if you haven't had a chat or you still feel that way like you did in the morning. I had some really meaningful connections with my nurses in the hospital and still today I remember the really key ones. I'm sure they would rather be able to support you rather than you hanging on to your thoughts and emotions and having them boil up inside you. A hospital is a place to get support and speaking about your needs with your assigned nurse is ok.

I think about my time in the hospital as where I need to be at the time and I'm grateful for the support. 🙂

I'm studying Diploma of Community Services at the moment or at least the next two weeks! yay 🙂

Re: Not Coping

Hey @Bow

It could be, but I'm still here for a week. I am worried about going home. I don't know how I'll stay safe. I'll have to come up with a very solid safety plan.

I'm sad so often I don't know what it could be about.
