Re: A long rave

Hi @Shaz51  hope your do nothing day today is turning out to be just that.  Hugs xx

@MDT  I was planning to do not much, maybe some garden chores, but have just written a long email to the company  who will do my MH specialised driver training about mis-communications and confusion over paperwork completed (problems at their end not mine).  I can prove to them from previous emails that I have communicated my requirements clearly prior to their OT assessment, and also that I HAVE signed a service agreement with them a month ago.  Thank goodness I've kept an email trail of all my communication with them.  The upshot of what they are saying is I can only do automatic lessons.  Ridiculous as I own a manual car, it's a good one, and I have no intention of trading it for an automatic.  It's 7 years old with less than 30 000 km on the dial.  Also ridiculous for them to think I'd spend nearly $8000 of my NDIS funds to end up not able to attain the goal that is the whole reason I have engaged them.  I lay in bed trying to sleep some more this morning with all this stuff racketing around in my brain and kept telling myself leave it til tomorrow - but just now I got fired up about it again so I wrote and sent the email.  cc'd my coordinator of supports too.  I am sick and tired of people assuming I'm not intelligent or able to advocate for myself once they know I have MH issues.  This mob actually wrote to my CoS and said to her that I was confused ..... I. am. not.. Made sure I was polite but also clear and assertive.  Hope it comes across that way to them!

LOL Rant over!!!

Might get outside in a while and bash a broom and rake around for a bit and destroy some weeds!!

@Appleblossom @Former-Member @greenpea @CheerBear @Zoe7 @Queenie @saturnzoon @Alone  hope your adventures getting and using NDIS funds are going more smoothly than mine.  These days my problems aren't so much with the NDIS itself, but with inefficient and unreliable (to say the least) support organisations.

Re: A long rave

@eth

Think it was going on in your head cause u needed to take action.

Good on you for writing the email

You dont sound confused to me at all!!

Im really glad u kept all those emails to prove the outcome u had requested. Itll get sorted cause theyll realise u have a manual car.

Youve done all u can for today tho.

Nows the waiting i think.

Glad i dont have to answer to many people anymore.

When i have loads of support people i just find it feels like ive got a bunch of people telling me what to do cause they assume im dumb

I really detest people assuming im dumb cause i cant control my emotional reactions.

Its depowering u. Anyway thats how it feels to me.

Re: A long rave

It sucks that you're having so much trouble @eth 😑😏 My NDIS journey is still a mess. I don't really talk about it here as I have very little good to say about it. Plan review in two weeks which I'm not at all hopeful about.

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Re: A long rave

They do try to disempower you when they talk down to or about you @Former-Member  but at this stage all it does is make me power up from the energy of getting cranky .. a healthy outcome of a bit of deserved anger.  For many years I didn't feel anger at all and honestly I think it's just part of the whole range of feelings we are meant to have, as long as it serves a purpose and doesn't just create friction and conflict.  It's a tricky one to balance with tho, partly why I like the written word - you have time to consider and re-word if needed before you hit send.

Re: A long rave

Best of luck and good management for your plan review @CheerBear   Has it really been a year already?  The main tip I have is to be really clear with your goals and try to align them to the funding categories from your first plan if possible (and of course add new goals if you have them).  In my case they only put 2 of my goals into my 2nd plan and I missed a whole category of funds that I'd had in my 1st plan.  Which affects how many psychology appointments I can have.  But the rest of the 2nd plan is good and I didn't want to request a review as they review the whole thing, not just the bit you are chasing, and I didn't want to risk losing anything.

As if you didn't have enough on your plate already.  More recent reports are good too, but they still need to focus on those 5 functional effect categories.

Take care and lots of love Heart

Re: A long rave

@eth

Agree 100% with what u said.

Beaching again later on lol. Think im gtowing to like this lifestyle

Re: A long rave

Thanks @eth. Yes it will have been a bit less than a year by the time the review comes up. I put in a request for a review in Feb but the wait for it was longer than the time it took for the year to be up. So frustrating.

Thanks for tips. I think I have as much of my stuff covered as I can, everything else will be in their hands (which I don't trust at all). I won't be talking much/at all in the review and my support coordinator will do that for me.

It's just another thing I guess 😏
