@Oaktree   Well . . .   If you fire up that big iron tub, . .    I'll have to close my doors.  competition eh.  

Actually Meggle,    you have to make sure you have good drainage.  Soil  tends to pack tight in containers.   We  get composts that they make at the tip.  A  ute load of that is not to dear.

Fine pine bark is the best.   Its cured and last for a while in the pot. but since the fires,  good potting mixes like Searles professional grade are hard to find.  A cheap potting mix can be improved by adding soaked coco peat,  and fine or medium grade vermiculite.  Well rotted cow poo in the top six inches,  .  .  and  stand back.  If you start things in small pots on the side,  so you keep the garden full.   Then it will soon pay for itself.  happy farming. . .
