hi @TAB I don't think it's irrational, i think it's caring , but I understand your point

People with cats unforunately do all sorts of things - my parents have gone away on a cruise and their cat has been alone for weeks, locked in part of the house. (It does get fed by a cousin once a day).

It's not ideal for the cat.
But that cat is okay. I guess you will find a way with ur sweet cat. But I think it's nice that you care for its wellbeing. That is commendable.
