@Former-MemberActually it was a BIG surpirse and very indirect as the sister(half) and I are no longer close. Her father and her found it hard to accept how much I put in, but she did not get the cooking, sewing and dancing from her biological mother. It was all me. I did pretend plies with her using my son's change table as a barre .. cos she responded well to dance more than singing or instrumental music. I was her step mother for 16 years from 6 weeks, but I left work and thought of her more as a foster daughter as that was what I had known.
Being a step mother was torturous as everyone wants to pick on you for any slight difference in affection you may or may not feel ... totally messed with my mind, body and heart ...
I am glad she is moving away from the sex industry and her "easy money" as she says as she sashayed insolently past me on her 21st. Growing up is a lot slower these days ... despite other preoccupations with speed ... hmmm ....
