not coping

Re: not coping

Im back now @Sans911
Hows your night going? Whats your day looking like tomorrow?

Re: not coping

I'm watching Blackfish on you tube. It's just finishing. It's about Orcas at Sea World in Orlando. In particular one orca called Tilikum. Very, very sad. I don't like visiting zoos or aquariums very much. Zoos are getting better at animal management but so many animals suffer at our hands. We might have intellengence, but sometimes we don't use it very well.

I have a volunteer walk tomorrow just after lunch. I'm stepping in for the host who's in hospital. I was going anyway but now he's asked me to host. The place we are walking is well known to me but not him, so I was going to help him out.

And of course my nurse will come to do the dressings. The one that came today was young, but nice. She came right before my meeting so it was a bit of a rush to get organised before I opened the meeting.

Mr A is so fast asleep right now. He's curled up with his face tucked into his paw.

This afternoon I had a coffee with 3 of my neighbours in the carport! Mr A also joined us on his lead. I'm finding that taking him for a walk around the front is helping him be more settled and sleep better.

One of my neighbour's in particular is struggling with being overwhelmed emotionally due the pandemic. It's a long story (not really necessary to explain) but she has mental health issues as well as mild intellectual disability. She's been leaning on me heavily the last week or so for support. She met my support worker on Friday because she was in my car after we returned from shopping, and my support worker was waiting outside my place. So she wanted to talk to her for a little bit. It's been exhausting providing that support at times.

Sorry, that was a long spill.

Re: not coping

It never ends for you does it! @Sans911 your always so helpful to people. Your neighbours are lucky to have you but yes it does get exhausting esp when we need the support ourselves.

A coffee in the carport sounds good though! Im sure Mr A enjoyed himself too. So glad he settles better now too.

I hope your walk goes good tomorrow and more people turn up too.

I know youll be ok with your nurse and Mr A likes her too so a bonus!

Re: not coping

Oh sorry @outlander the nurse today was different. She was OK with Mr A but he wasn't really interested in her. I might get her again tomorrow but I'm not sure. She was covering for another nurse today who got too busy. He was on the bed at one point when she was doing the dressings so I had to hold him.

Re: not coping
