I have had ect probably about 7-8 times now @Birdofparadise8 Sometimes as an inpatient and sometimes as an outpatient.
My kids are 16 and 18 so they understand to a point. They know I have CPTSD from work and childhood but of course don't know the details nor my other diagnosis's. They normally cope pretty well when I am admitted. It does help that I have a supportive husband at home. It does make it easier but I still feel the guilt of going in.
The hardest person to tell is my mum. She isn't really supportive for me going in. She is not the type to think it does any good. She herself has her own issues but has never sought out help for them. She did see a psych once but said it didn't help so she never went back. She does not believe in that sort of thing.

That's good they are supportive @Snowie
I'm sorry about your mum.
Parents can be tricky when it comes to that stuff. I find it hard with mine.

Yes, parents can be tricky @Birdofparadise8
I think my mum would greatly benefit from seeing a psych but I am not going to mention it to her, it wouldn't go down well.
Have finished the washing so better head up the street. I hope the appt. with your gp goes well. Please let us know how you go.
Talk soon.

Oh, I definitely feel you there; I've tried to encourage my mum to see a psych as well. My dad, uncle and aunt all agree she should.
Okay, have a good day.
It's 2:45, so I'll let you know if you are around after that. It's a 30-minute appointment. @Snowie

Hi @creative_writer @Blackbird11 @ENKELI @tyme @Shaz51
How is everyone?
I’m just heading to see my GP. I’m a bit nervous as to what my psych said to her.

i got one of the squishmallows. You can get them with Qantas points so it didn’t cost too much.
maybe now I’ll find a little comfort who knows I’m not that hopeful.

It is cute @lavenderhaze
I want to cry.
Did you see the post about my GP?
I had my GP appointment she is going to speak with my Pdoc about an increase in medication.
I asked her how long she was going to be off, and it is going to be a year. I got a bit emotional asking her because she has been very helpful and gone above and beyond. She even gave her personal phone number to the receptionist where my Pdoc is so they can speak on the phone if he can't talk to her by the time she has finished for the day.
She said she would call me this afternoon, but if not, on Wednesday.

I just read that now @Birdofparadise8.
I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. 😞
It sounds like your GP has been a crucial support for you, and it's understandable that you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the news of their extended absence.
Sitting with you 💜
