Re: Far and Away

Hi @Former-Member, how's things?

Re: Far and Away

I loved that reading the newspaper while peeling the potatoes story but I can't find it now - maybe it was @Faith-and-Hope

I have a peeling potatoes story too - I knew how to peel potatoes when I was in the Army Reserve - and my day for kitchen duty when I was away at camp was Friday and the first Friday it was HOT - it's a different kind of heat up at Puckapunyal and the mornings were beautiful like an Albert Namitjera painting - glorious

So I turned up in the kitchen and the cook told me - like ordered me - to gut some fish - and I had no idea how - I had never gutted a fish in my life - I was 18 - and I am a lot older than that now and I still haven't gutted a fish - so I felt helpless

And I saw the girl who had to peel the potatoes - all those spuds bobbing around in a big dixie of cold water - and so I swapped with her to peel the spuds - slowly of course - with my hands in cold water for as long as I could string it out -

Dad was in the Army Reserve too - and gave me some hints so I have stacks more stories - but that's the peeling potatoes story

Re: Far and Away

These are from gardens by the bay, Marina Square. There was a lot of different gardens which is free but there are 2 domes you have to pay to get in. Also there is the skywalk which didn't get to go on as didn't reach in time for last entry time.

1. On way to the 2 domes

2. Flower dome
