Re: Craft Corner

@Pepperpot origami sounds wonderful. Feel welcome to show us things you might like to share, or things that are similar if there's identifying stuff that means sharing isn't the way to go. Thank you for your kind words. Woman Very Happy

If you'd like to learn to crochet, in this thread we've taught someone to crochet, or there's places like CWA groups that teach various crafts, U3A classes sometimes (might depend on being over 50 though), Neighbourhood centres and Craft stores and groups in many places who would be only too happy to teach you how to crochet.

hehehe, @CheerBear wants to take over the world with Amigurumi, me, I want to take over the world with crochet! Smiley LOLRobot LOL

@OhanaSystem I hope it's okay to tag you here about your crochet. Wondering if the link was any use at all for you. I know you've mentioned how it's easier to pick up with someone showing you. I hope you're doing okay today. Heart

As I've mentioned to others, I can't paint or draw worth a damn, so am envious of those who can. Smiley Wink We each have our talent I think.  I hope we do inspire you to do something with your mood board and even to learn to crochet!

What were you thinking of using for the baseboard for your mood board? Will there be a formal set out? Everyone has such an individual outlook on these things.

crochet motif uses.JPG @outlander I took an image of the crocheted and tatted practice pieces on my house slippers for you. Smiley Wink

I know the colours of the slippers are weird, these 'summer' colours were less than half the price of the black ones I usually get!

I thought the brights might give me a lift and it means I have enough house slippers to last a couple of years. The additions easily help to keep the pairs together when they're washed and stored too. (((( @outlander )))) You're such a kind and caring person, I thank your for your kind words and really hope you're feeling a wee bit better sweetie, heard things are being hard for you. (((( Heart ))))

Hi to @Bunniekins so lovely to see you, I've missed you and your sparkling green avatar. I do hope you're feeling better too. Heart

@Faith-and-Hope did you find something additional to interest you with the Finger Knitting? Smiley Frustrated or perhaps you discovered a rabbit hole of some other crafty goodness. Smiley Very Happy

@Snowie there were some cross stitch patterns in the latest Innovations catalogue, not sure if you're familiar with it. Looking forward to hearing how you're going with your stitches. (hope it's okay to tag you here)

@CheerBear thinking about your Sophie's Universe and how you and it, are progressing. No need to respond, I know lots of things are occupying your time and mind right now. Just wanted to tell you that you're work on Sophie motivated me to find my Design Ideas Book before I did too much more work on my Red Thing.

I found it, right where it should have been, which was great! But, not one word about the Red Thing Mandala Vest. Not one. Smiley FrustratedSmiley SurprisedSmiley Sad and no notes in the project bag it had been stored in either. Which is odd. But, not to worry, that means I can effectively redesign what I want to do with it. I think I have enough yarn to have free rein with design elements as long as I don't get too carried away. So, I may have to design ideas before I get too far along.

I'm open for suggestions if anyone has any.

It's for a summery overlay, so, now I'll need to decide sleeve length (yes, I will indeed have sleeves, if only short ones to cover the shoulder), hem length ... perhaps not to almost floor on this one, and whether a hood or not. Given my tendancy to want to block out light and people, yes I might make a nice shaped hood, like something out of an old movie, adapted from one of those glorious veiled hats from ages past. (I do love those hats and wish I could wear them these days to hide teary face days)

I do hope everyone is having a pleasant enough day.

I'm off to do something to make me feel accomplished ... lots of things to do ... always something to do! Smiley LOL

Re: Craft Corner

@Former-Member Hi SunShower so good to see you too. Hope you are doing okish today. Has been a beauitiful day where I live. Went for a walk with my wonderful ex and enjoyed the day. I hope you are having a lovely evening. the pea xxx

Re: Craft Corner

@Former-Memberi love your slippers! no i dont think they are weird at all, i love the colouring. my favourite is the white flowers on the green ones though. i think they would look loveley on black slippers too. and thank you for your kind words to me both here and my thread too Heart

Re: Craft Corner

Hi everyone 🙂 So much to catch up on! Love it.

@Faith-and-Hope love the colour of your knitting. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Great to see you found the crafty corner @Pepperpot 🙂 @Former-Member is right - I am on a mission to have the world taken over by little crochet creatures (amigurumi). Which speaking of, SunShower (and everyone), one of mine finished their very first crochet project the other day - an amigurumi owl. They were so proud of it and they did an awesome job. I have passed down the love and now they can join the mission Smiley Very Happy Not sure if you have seen this thread here @Pepperpot but it came to mind when I heard you mention you like painting and drawing. Great to see you around 🙂

@Former-Member so good to hear you were able to do some more crochet under the light. Your slippers are so much more lovely and fun with your additions! I think you're so clever to be able to make what you do by re-designing and adjusting it. I would be reluctant to suggest anything as I think you're pretty amazing with what you do! When I think of 'red thing' with a hood, I think of little red riding hood haha. That's a cape from memory though. Really looking forward to hearing/seeing how you get on with it. Sophie blanket is still happening, just a little less over the last couple of days. Another tulip round now and stuck with colour choices Smiley Frustrated My inability to make decisions is frustrating the heck out of me at the moment.

I found myself at Spotlight today and picked up a mini cross stitch to have a play with @Snowie. I think I mentioned that I have looked but never gone further than that, but finding myself there for a birthday present today, one really stood out and thinking of your post the other day I decided to try. I have no idea when it comes to cross stitch, so much so that when I opened the packet and saw the instructions, I got a huge laugh at myself because I realised it is actually a cross shaped stitch that makes it. Who would have thought Smiley LOL ? Considering my dislike for needles and thread, I am thinking this will be a one off thing, but I am looking forward to trying (and thank you for the inspiration).

Hi to everyone I missed. Hope you're all doing well enough

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear@outlander@Bunniekins@Former-Member@BlueBay@Snowie and anyone I've missed. Looking and reading bits and pieces, scalves, cross stitch, slippers and spotlight, did someone mention spotlight.....???? What a great thread to visit. Thankyou for inspiring me.

Re: Craft Corner

So good to see you here @Maggie Heart Lots of crafty talk and do of all kinds happening 🙂 And yep, that wonderful store!

Have you done any of your cross stitch lately? (serious new found appreciation for the tinyness of it)

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear I have 4 cross stitch projects on the go atm. So much unpicking lately, poor concentration means one stitch out of place, and it's unpicking once you realise it. Lol. It's a great way to quiet an overactive mind, that's really why I do so much of it. I'm also pressing flowers and painting stones, though the stone painting is.....pretty bad....

Re: Craft Corner

hi @Maggie whats sorts of crafts do you like to do? do you have any (or feel comfortable) in sharing any here with us?

Re: Craft Corner

oh @Maggie posted at the same time- you just answered my question
