Life can be a Pain

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Anastasia

Thanks for the pic and the pick-me-up

I am very tired - I have the rest of the day, 4 whole days and Friday morning to wait for my ablation and I am sooooooooooo tired. It's amazing how I last but I manage it. The thought of more time in hospital is the greater of two evils. I am in control of my circumstances in my own home

Somethere is another owl who says something about being a tired owl in the 1 picture 1,000 words meme - I have already forgotten what it looks like already

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hello dear @Owlunar  ... lovely to see you around, and only sorry you have not felt well enough, due to pain, to be here more than you have of late.  But any time you do show up ... your posts always bring me a sense of joy and also tend to put things into perspective for me.  So I thank you for that.

I expect Friday cannot come soon enough for you.  To get that next ablation will be a relief I'm sure.  I read on your post on my thread that you will spend the night at your daughters after your procedure.  Will it be a day surgery thing, or will you perhaps need to spend a night in hospital?

As always, I love the owl choices.

Sending you love and a dinner package for your evening meal.  I'm doing rissoles, gravy, mashed potatos, pumpkin and brussell sprouts.  I know brussels sprouts are not for everyone ... but I like them and they are hubbys favourite green vege along with broccolini.  So we have them quite often ... usually just steamed.  Other times I sautee them with butter, salt, pepper, fresh garlic and balsamic vinegar. If I have some on hand ... I like pine nuts sprinkled in.  So I hope I can entice you to try them.

Leaving you with these cuties ...

Emelia 💞🤗

I am sticking with green today - because I feel really Irish and I even have a green shirt on without thinking of it - that's the Irish in me

Getting organised for hospital on Friday is easy really but I am behind my imaginary 8-ball and feeling really flat. Yesterday and Monday I went to sleep in my chair in the afternoon - for hours - I must need it. I am supposed to pick my reading glasses up from the optometrist but they can wait.

The pain is less but I feel drained. Actually the last ablation has been better than the one before - it has lasted a month longer and right now the pain is a lot less than last time - that time I went into hospital - drat - 10 days - I have other things to do with my life than have someone else manage it for me.

My daugher is cooking a chicken pie for dinner for me. She must really care for me to cook dinner when she is still in a lot of pain from her operation too. I will be glad to see her again - with the lock-down and both of us taking it in turns to have orthopaedic problems it hasn't been easy

Those are lovely pictures Em - thanks for posting them. It's a sorrow to me that I haven't been in to post much lately - this is life for many people I am sure. I am always advocating for self-care - so I must care for myself first too. It's necessary. I would rather live alone than try and peacefully share my unit with someone else

And yes - I like sprouts too Em. And cabbage. I like a lot of vegetables - the sweet corn with the leaves still on is fantastic. They don't need much steaming.  I like asparagus too - but that could have done with longer in the steamer - I like to learn new things and this has been an interesting lesson

After the ablation I hope to be on more and keeping up with people's stories

Have the best day possible peeps and if you are Irish or descending from the Green Isle - Happy St Patrick's Day

Thanks @Anastasia

I will be looking for your picture when it comes through

I just heard on the news that people in my category will be up for the "jab" as early as next week - this is good to hear - not just for myself but for others like myself

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay

I was going to post in green all day today but forgot sometimes

Yes - I am looking forward to Friday and having the procedure - I will be very glad to have it done. I have to iron a few things because I won't have my domestic shift on Friday - or my shopping - I ironed my trousers and I think that's probably enough - ouchie.

Your son is 28 today - wow - time does past does it not - fast too. I was 28 when my daughter was born - and she's in her late forties now. The years are catching up with me

I hope this morning went well - I hope you did get to learn the registers
