Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Re: Introduction

Hi  @Oaktree    .  Well done .   No ,  not blush,   But smile ,  and think.  Paydirt.

L G B  T Q I      X  Y  Z. . .   Whatever comes after that.   well that where I  begin.

Mate, I tend to trust diverse people more.  They are always more accepting of me.

That they can freely express to you,   speaks volumes about your style.

But a big thing for me is that you are able to recognise when  you have hurt someone  feel

remorse and well,   If your pants are down on the forum,  thats the makings of a good

apology  I reckon.

Think I know who you mean.     Trust in the theatre of daily warfare is so hard.

Thinking  machines,  lack the loyalty and purity of the weapons they hold.

Our safety's off for just one day. . .   and Its  green  on  green.  Then the aftermath.

Even when she's not around,  she has always  been the "the man next to me" in the trench.

Give it time mate. . .

I ran out to rescue someone and took a heap of friendly fire,   and no apology ever came

or ever will,    Few can admit they are wrong.  Fewer can say sorry,     Gutsy move.

Your my mate too.   Your kind to me,   and I'm  known for being a loyal  grunt.

Sooo   Back to Perth.    Hard to believe ,  but I never made it there.  Only state without a wanted poster.

Well    your deal  mate.   My  legs are crossed.    tonys    moonbase 1

Re: Introduction

@Oaktree   Marmande,   they don't produce well,  get bacterial blight,  and a host of other ailments long as both arms.  but they handle high  E C  levels.  thats tech for salt fertilizer in the soil.  I run such high levels that the lower leaves all burn,  and that makes for  sweet tangy tomatoes.  Tried black Russian and lots of others.  Mine go to a wholesaler,  then direct to a few restaurants.   They cant get enough of em.  Only filled 60%  of orders this year.

Re: Introduction

@tonys

Thanks for your kind words. I think most of my problem is that I am impulsive.
I agree diverse people are generally the most interesting!

It’s pretty easy to get into hot water but it’s really hard to get back out of it. I am like the frog in the cold water. As it’s heating up I don’t notice and never jump out of the pot.

Thanks for the advice re tomatoes- I will have to see if I can get seeds for those here. Maybe you would fill more orders if you didn’t chuck the toms at each other.

Looking forward to WA issuing a wanted poster for you!

Take care mate,

Meggle

Re: Introduction

Yes   @Oaktree   Hot water.     Hot water and thin ice is   where the edge is at.  Stimulates. .

Tupperware talk is something I can't maintain for long.    I never have a personal crack at someone,  .  .   .   but if someone is having a bad day or seeking attention,  then they'll cruise the threads looking for a softy  to control  or take their bad day out on.   The few  friends I have are kind . .  and forgiving.

I'm lucky.                                    I always think if I can close my doors and windows and it doesnt interfere with the

peaceful  enjoyment of my  home,  then it passes muster and ain't my business,   And I'm too lazy to make friends in this town.   So till something else comes along. .  this is relaxing,  and I'm learning to type

s  l  o  w  l  e  y.  .  .

I think people take themselves to seriously at times.  Worse than that,   they take me seriously.  I'll write a sad poem or tell a sad story and folks think I'm in a cold bath

clutching a glowing toaster.  I post on 2 other writing sites on the net,  and it amazes me the different reactions.   There realy are a lot of unwell folks here.  bit of a mine field

but we travel for different insight.    I'm autistic so what makes some peoples clock

work,  does interest me  a lot. . .

Have a great Easter my friend.  Hope hubby is of his feet.  Ive got the Comedy going

so I'll say Goodnight mate .   sleep  well.   tonys   moonbase 1

Happy Easter @tonys @LeChuck @Sophia1 @HenryX

Did the Easter Bunny come to your house. I got a small bag of mini caramello eggs and a small bag of mini crunchie eggs.

I am going to Church in an hour. I have to give my Easter and Birthday gift for my daughter to someone going overseas. They will meet up with her there.
What are your plans for the day.

I am just having a quiet day at home besides Church.

Re: Introduction

@Oaktree    Hi  mate.   Happy  easter to you too Meggle.   I have a huge grey bunny.

He leaves piles of  little brown eggs on the newspaper.    You know,   I bet if I dipped

them in chocolate,   the local fancy coffee shop could sell them to yuppies.    High fibre,

low sugar,     carbon credit snack,

I'm gonna leave a bowl of em on the bar at the  pub in town,

Sneak em in under my coat.   Cant list on the stock exchange till I've done my market research...  hey.

So  Looks like its just you and me in toon town till chuck gets back.  .  . .

Well the town  I live near could learn a thing or two from you about acceptance my friend.

Two stools,   one bottle.   Imagination,  and  sharing.  Its all we need.       I want to say,  have fun at church,  but doesn't

sound right some how.   I  don't celebrate easter as such,   but  I do  believe the story.

and  feel  sorrow.   We always seem to tread on the beautiful  people,  and then find a way

to  turn a buck  from it.

Ive never seen the inside of a church,  and dont think I  could share a bench with the folk

in this town.    But I never say never.    I have a realy big hat,    whatever lies under the shadow of that hat,   well . . . .    for now,   thats my church.

Now . . .   you'll have to multi task.   bar maid   and sheriff.   And we need a proper name for this town. . .

Have a top day Meggle. . . .           tonys   m b 1

Re: Introduction

Well @tonys

My imagination is not what it used to be. Haven’t practiced at it for years. It’s probably a good thing that you have never been in a Church. Religion is not always what it’s cracked up to be. A lot of controlling of the masses and taking your money. My hubby is not a fan of that side of things. He says God is not short of cash.
It’s what you believe in your heart that matters! I believe that you can pray anywhere, you don’t have to be in a Church for God to hear you.

Thanks for pulling me up a chair!

Here’s a cheers to you.

To Tonys Two Guns at Moonbase 1 - Happy Easter from all of us over West. I hope that you have the best day ever!

Love ya mate,

Meggle

Re: Introduction

Good evening @tonys

I got my farmer on.

I went to the store and bought some Rouge De Marmande tomato seeds ready for when spring comes. Might get them started early inside. I also got some potting mix and mushroom compost for planting into.

When I got home I got out my new 65 litre galvanised tub, put the potting mix and compost in and planted garlic chives, heirloom carrots (the pretty colourful ones) and some cucumbers. It’s not actually time to plant cucumbers here but it’s still warm so I thought I would give it a go. I feel like a real farmer now. Black dirt under the fingernails and everything. I cant wait for the seedlings to emerge in about a week. I love watching things grow.

Your turn to entertain me now. What cha got?

Re: Introduction

@tonys

To be clear I bought the tub at Aldi a few months ago but it’s been holding odds and ends inside the house ever since. Might buy more if Aldi gets them back in at any point.

Re: Introduction

Hi   @Oaktree   Go farm girl.  Well if you've got a warm protected corner,  its surprising what will grow in winter.  I used to grow apollo tomatoes year round.  Warm root zone is the key.

black pots and black plastic on the ground.   On concrete.   we call it  "latent heat energy" .

Small green house in a sunny patch will pay for itself in no time.

My set up is a little more complex.  Boiler running warm water under the pots and tunnel huts

for my winter stuff,  but the principles the same.   Do some reading up on the net.

There must be a tonne  of info on that.   Keep seed in a cool place.

I have a few guava trees and they are ripe now so I'm worn out picking those at the moment.  WE have a road side stall.   and the girls do the weekend markets,  but most goes on the truck to the wholesalers.  Glad you had a good day mate.
