Not Coping

Re: Not Coping

Hey @fluffylight @Jynx @amber22 @creative_writer @outlander @Kyle1 @Blackbird11 @Melbcoffeesnob @Shaz51 @Bow

How is everyone tonight?

Does anyone know how to know when to go home from the hospital? The nurse today came and talked to me and said if I'm not feeling good, I could stay longer, but could that prolong my anxiety around going home? I don't know.

Re: Not Coping

Tough to know the right course @Birdofparadise8  - maybe make a pros and cons list for both options?

Re: Not Coping

I just spoke to my aunt. I think I'll just go home Friday and see how I go.

Do you know much about PRN meds? I've been wondering if my Pdoc could give me something to help for when I am distressed so I can take that to calm me down @Jynx

Re: Not Coping

Sounds like a plan @Birdofparadise8

I think discussion of meds is something you ought to do with your pdoc. It's also against guidelines for members to ask for or give medical advice. But it's definitely an option for you to look into!

Re: Not Coping

Oh yeah okay @Jynx

Still scary going home though.

Re: Not Coping

hi @Birdofparadise8 i guess the only way to know if your ready is to head home however if you feel like you cant keep yourself safe then staying in hospital till you feel you can would be the better option.

The meds would need to be spoken to your pdoc about. they may offer you some but i guess it also depends on your safety levels due to your history.

maybe you can ask the hospital about some supports when your back home. sometimes its hard to adjust back to normal life after being in hospital for abit. maybe they have a social worker or something that could check in with you for a couple of days

Re: Not Coping

Hi @outlander

I don't know. I'm going home Saturday now as I need a blood test, but my Pdoc told me Friday at least I get one more day here. I think I'm okay to go home. I will monitor how

Yes, I talked to her about it, and she will give me a trial tonight of one and then provide me with something else tomorrow to see what I prefer.

I would only be able to get a few days from the chemist anyway, so safety with that should be okay.

Being a private hospital, I don't know if they would have a social worker. I wonder if I contact St V's psych triage, but I feel they won't help me. They never do.

I have a session with my psych today, so it will be interesting to see how that goes.

How have you been? Did you have a lovely birthday?
