@Bunniekins @StuF @Daisydreamer
But I did not stop playing a little Blues or Honkee Tonk
I figured it was all the smoke and drunkenness to keep away from kids ...but the actual music ... they could play it if they wanted
Like David Lynch and Ken Loach as directors ...

I first heard of Ken Loach at uni late 90s @Appleblossom lecturer gushing about his films on workers, and Spanish civil war etc.
.. How about Peter Greenaway ? SBS used to play them back in the day, like Drowning by Numbers lol

We saw Kes by Loach in Year 11 late 70s. Left a mark on me as I had not seen much tv movies. @TAB ... not mentioned when I studied a mini bit of film late 80s at uni ... Then realised later ... guess my tastes were set ... never that impressed by Hollywood or even pop ... not enough spare time or cash ... to splurge in those directions ... its weird in a way ... my son reckons ... my poverty saved me a lot of rubbish ...hee hee ... I like that for irony ... lol ... not that I was snobby ... just a wise spender ... good at going without ... learned not to hunger for what was not in reach materially ...kinda practical
Even now ... being in a choir is not expensive ...and I get to see & hear a lot of good quality.

I have been to Halle, not for from there. Mentioned that to father years ago, he said he helped cleaned up rubble from air raids in Halle during the War. guess he was in training or on leave or something.
