Wow @Teej those colours would make an awesome granny square blanket, or shawl or whatever! Very inspiring, but I was after a bit of a lighter tone for this one.
@greenpea I was going for the green myself after much mind-changing and indecision - then I made a fatal mistake! Yes, I like the way you think! Have looked online for more handkerchiefs and also need to get a new tatting shuttle, so will have to do some more checking and phoning too (ughh) before I can find the shuttles I want.
@Former-Member Thank you, I think I will have to do what Greenpea suggests and just get me some more handkerchiefs to tatt around. I"m liking the challenge of it and the idea that they are a 'gift' for myself. One will have to be variegated lavender!
@Faith-and-Hope Thank you for that, I'm not sure I can actually do that though, because it's not my area to care for, but the webs are so overloaded with debris and egg sacs that they are blowing into my garage and along my front porch area. I figure the least I can do and not get into any turf wars is to swipe the webs away with a very long stick. (Did you know those egg sacs have over 500 'pideys per each?) There is no garden for them to be relocated to. If the spray were to damage the house paint I'd be liable for the damage, so have avoided doing that so far.

Well, update on the white tatted hankie saga - sad news friends.
I chose to do the border with the variegated green because it's just way different from anything I already have, fair enough reason I thought.
I had to remove the pink from where I'd begun the second row of edging onto the white and being oh so careful, cut right through the picot without realising that's where I was cutting.
So, decision made, and @Faith-and-Hope 'wins' - it is now a plain white tatted hankie as I cannot do a second row without all the picots to work into. All I could do was laugh at myself!
I'm enjoying getting back to tatting though and am planning on tattig more edged hankies and thinking of collars and necklines for blouses/ tops, or edgings down the button front of blouses even.
thank you for the lovely suggestions and comments, I really really appreciate it very much.
@Catcakes Your blanket is progressing very very nicely! Lovely neat work, your tension is so consistent, which can be hard with so much interruption. Lovely colours. It looks so squishy, cosy and snuggly. thank you so much for taking the time to share.

Time changes so much doesn't it @Appleblossom, sometimes for the better and sometimes not, sometimes it's just differently too.
You must have been a wonderful teacher to her, how lovely to have taken so much of an interest in her when you had your own responsibilities. You did well with her, she learned to be independant, perhaps not in the way you might have chosen for her, but she took a path for herself.
You are so right, so eloquent with your word 'torturous', so true. Right cannot be done, no matter how you turn, or what you do. I an relate from my own experiences of step parenting. At one stage I was caring for my own baby as well as an infant stepgrandchild and the teenage parents.
So much changed. 20 years ended up meaning nothing. Those days are as if someone else lived them, yet I feel the heartache and know it was I.
Yes, that is very thought provoking Apple, about the growing up and preoccupations with speed of life.
How are your activities going for you, I think you had many things to choose from?

Hi @Former-Member I think white pink and lavender would look good. Love your work!
I'm posting another thread, will tag you there in case you're interested.

Thank you @eth for your suggestion, I'm going to have to get myself a few more edged handkerchiefs to get all the colours done!
I'm enjoying the doing of it though and it's giving my hands a rest from the crochet movements and strain that sewing causes too. I'll check out the other thread.
Today is go see the dr day so feeling quite the bit anxious due to the shopping crowds that will undoubtedly be around cos of easter and holidays coming up. Worried it won't be a peaceful trip.
Good wishes to all for today.

Goodness @Former-Member that's very nice work, and something of a neat idea there! Do you crochet much? Or do other crafts?
Would love to hear a little (or a lot) of detail from you about your projects than just an image.
@greenpea @CheerBear thanks for your good thoughts. It's been a bit of an interesting day. the blood test results mean I have to have some testing for copd or at least apnoea. sigh. But it all fits and might even help with the MH issues.
Been a stressful day having to deal with ins and outs of 'what ifs' to get the testing done and then 'what we might need to do' after the results come in. Have the whole long weekend + to worry about it now before testing through pharmacy can be started. SOooooo glad have a lovely pharmacist.
Need a good cry now. So stressed about it all.
Cheerbear looking up your yarn thing now. Doy ou know how much you need for that pattern?
