Dear @Exoplanet
I managed to confuse you and many more no doubt.
Same in real life as I seem to speak a different language to everybody else laugh.
I have started a new thread, which also took some time and a cry for help.
Thankfully @Anastasia came to my rescue and could not believe how easy it was when I next tried.
Actually, yes I agree, you do write and talk about your adventures in a letter style.
That is what makes it so appealing to me along with all of the little faces in between the words.
Enchanting as is your icon.
A house on the sea shore would be wonderful. Watching the waves from inside the house as well mesmerising.
Your beautiful dogs would have loved their special holiday with their mum.
Packing for holidays along with organising and then travelling is tiring. More so on the way home.
Sorry to hear about the situation with your dogs in the garage.
He might not have even given it a second thought, just opened the door to get on with whatever he was doing.
Extremely frightening for you though. Your one dog heading straight to look for his mum. The other not wandering off too far; a huge relief for you.
Holidaying near large bodies of water is also synonymous with my idea of a getaway; to escape everything and everyone. Life seems so much different on those occasions.
You are sounding as though your energy levels are a lot lower these days and I apologise as I have not been able to read along with what is going on in the lives of those I normally communicate with.
My head is starting to behave and fog brain comes and goes less frequently now. Ssh don't tell anyone as it will come back just to taunt me.
The letter writing thread is over in social space. I will tag you.
It might read a little confusing as my two new friends, pen pals have decided to be part of Winnie the Pooh bear and friends' travels.
Actually you would fit in perfectly because you write about your adventures and travels.
So I will definitely tag you at the same time letting you know now that if too confusing for you I will understand.
It can be confusing remembering who I am when I write and which animal I am writing to.
It is a warm, cuddly, friendly feeling though.
Take care special lady and write to me from wherever you feel most comfortable. I hope to be able to respond to people more often now.
love to you from Sophia 💜

Hello @HenryX
In regard to the open discussion that I was not able to log into, yes I was very disappointed.
It was the first time that I actually had a clearer mind and was able to notice the upcoming event.
The part that was even more upsetting was that my question was not included which was very unwelcoming even though I was only able to read parts of the conversations.
I have decided to move past the issue as I will not allow this state of part of the haze clearing from my mind to be affected by anything.
The subject itself was not one that really interested me; more other peoples thoughts and ideas.
I will look for it another time to read over.
I hope that you are enjoying the forums and I see that you are a community guide, so congratulations are in order for something that you feel you will gain from at the same time assisting others on here.
Take Care
Sophia 😊

Hello Sophia1
On the following post, I have written a comment of my experience with forum activities and my experience and thoughts about what, I believe, may have been the experiences of other people.
Included are a few anecdotal examples in support of my comments and concerns.
Should you feel comfortable doing so, I would very much appreciate your observations about whether you consider my comments appropriate, in terms of user experience and meeting the needs of current members. You may wish to comment, as well, on the concerns that I have about possible loss of potential forum members, due to the complexity, disjointedness and “barriers to entry” of some of the functions on the forum.
Obviously, I would not ask you to comment if you feel uncomfortable, in any way, with any or all of the propositions or observations that I have made.
With My Very Best Wishes
HenryX

Hello Sophia1
I am sorry that situations arise, sometimes, that cause us to feel excluded, as you may well have had justifiable reason to feel, as a result of not being able to access and join a particular discussion event.
Warning
This post may seem to be contentious, but it states my concerns about some aspects of accessibility and use of this forum.
I am aware, as a result of joining the discussion mentioned above by Sophia1, only as a guest, that quite a number of people did access the discussion. However, presumably, due to my inability to negotiate the entry portal, I also could not access that discussion as a participating and involved member. As a guest, I remained a non-participating observer.
Now, with some guidance, I might have gained access. However, I am committed to the role, purpose and benefits to be given and received by using this forum, and would, very likely, have persisted in any case. But, “The Forum” has, at the gate, so to speak, already lost potential participants, not just to the discussion(s), but as users of the forum. The reason some may not persist is because they are disillusioned by the complexity of the format, and may consequently feel that they are “not up to whatever standard, that they may percieve, is presumably required”
for participation as a forum member.
One example of the format, that can be confusing to new members, to my way of thinking, is the use of drop-down banners over other function headings.
One, apparently well qualified person, who would appear, as a result of their stated professional qualification, to have been active in fairly recent study and work roles, requiring competency in the use of computers, asked me how to post a message under a new thread heading. People can relatively easily use other forum formats that do not require substantial knowledge in computer applications. Automotive forums, are one example among many. Now the argument, in response to that statement, might be that this forum offers a far more complex number of functions. Then that is, in itself, a reason for
“de-complexifying” the format for everyone.
As may have been gathered, inclusiveness in, and the potential benefits to be derived from membership of the forum, and the forum activities, is important to me, even though I am a relatively new member. Because of that point of view, I am concerned that people understand how the forum works in its present format. Even now, I feel that many people, both new and longer term members, may find the forum format to be difficult to negotiate, particularly for inexperienced computer users, but also, very often, those who have somewhat more experience and knowledge, elsewhere, as well as on this forum.
That is the reason that I often make the comment, that:
“I initially had problems negotiating the forum format and structure”,
in order that newer members may be less inclined to feel that same sense of unease and exclusion, and consequently, be inclined to think
“that they are just not up to the task”,
when, in fact, at least a portion (Size?) of the “fault” is in the presentation and structure of the forum format.
For example, not everyone, who would benefit from access to the forum, has any, or even recent, university, school, social or work developed familiarity with computer systems, format and structure. Consequently, people who are not acquainted with those systems, formats and structures may, by default, be excluded from use of the forum. This is, to my way of thinking, a great pity, and constitutes a failure to provide an accessible format for potential users.
I have also added, to many of my posts, guides and descriptions of how or why different aspects of the forum work. This is because I would prefer newer members of the forum, and at times, some longer established forum members, not have to go through the trial and error process of finding things out, that I did. Or, receive a message that in no way conveys any meaning about the problem that they are faced with, in negotiating the forum path. And, during that process, I do believe that we must lose a large number of potential and recent users, who, as a result, do not gain access to a resource that may be very useful to them. And what is useful to individuals, is, by extension, of use and benefit to the wider community.
At the present time, the forum serves a relatively small number of people, when compared to the number of people throughout Australia, who may gain benefit from participation on the forum. I believe, that part of the reason for the relatively small number of users is that the forum is complex to negotiate, not user friendly or anywhere close to what may be referred to as intuitive, for use by the wider Australian population.
Indeed, it may well have been for similar reasons, that I did not become an active member, after initially joining the forum in 2015, which is recorded as my joining date. I simply do not remember.
Some, in Australia, claim that we are at the forefront of computer program and application design, and yet we are using a computer system, format and structure, from overseas, that offers only one spelling option, that of English (USA), is difficult to understand and negotiate, and is, I believe definitely not intuitive or user friendly. As such, the resources and user benefits are thus accessible and available to a limited few. In any other context, and by the measures discussed on this forum, that could be considered, to amount to a form of discrimination. I offer this perspective because I, naturally, do not think that this is the intention, wish or awareness at any level of membership or involvement on the forum, however, it leaves open the possibility of that being a possible perception, from outside, being framed in those terms.
Most Sincerely,
HenryX

Dear @HenryX
I would love to respond to your post.....essay (I love and write essays)...letter?
I will need time to think carefully about my response though.
Usually I just write what flows from my mind.
Your post needs to be carefully thought through.
I have written something simillar along the lines of
"uninviting and disclusive" way back in time.
Please be patient with me.
I have been on here far too long today and must get up and move.
My garden is calling me as there is no rain and sunshine. Yes the sun is out.
Love winter sun.
Speak again
😊

Hello @Sophia1
Thank you very much for your reply. I have just arrived home from an enjoyable day with friends, about 100 km's away.
I understand you wishing to consider whether and, if you do, in what way may the most appropriate response be given. As I said, if you, or anyone else, feel that the discussion is not what you, or they, believe is something that can be taken on at the present, or any time, for that matter, I absolutely understand.
My comments may be "blown out of the water", and I may be way out of line. However, too often I have left something unsaid, and regretted having not said anything further down the track.
My comments may be considered as appropriate or inappropriate. However they may start, or possibly continue, a conversation that was already started some time ago. If the appetite for the conversation exists it may provide an opportunity where positive ideas may be generated for the benefit of all forum members, but particularly potential new members.
If my thoughts are viewed by other members and generate discussion on any difficulties that they have had in using the forum, that may, hopefully, lead to some improvements in functionality of the site, for all member users.
My comments are, in no way, intended as criticism of the commitment, application and contribution of members or staff at any level of the structure. My concern is simply about limitations imposed on all participants by the functionality, or otherwise, of the system within which we all operate.
It is definitely not my intention for you, or anyone else, to feel that pressure is being imposed on you or them. My comments are made, in part, as a result of interactions between us on the forum, many of which I have appreciated. That is why I have initially addressed the written version of my thoughts to you for consideration.
With My Very Best Wishes
HenryX
