Re: rough time

Re: rough time

Honestly @outlander Yes I do. You can only know what you know and if you haven't learnt those things then you cannot possibly know how to do them. You are so mature in your responsibilities yet never been able to be a 'kid' and that can really stunt your social growth. That would be one reason why you have trouble connecting with young people your age - you have never learnt how to.

I have seen so much growth in you over the last couple of years - you have learnt so much from being on here. We see every day your compassion, empathy and ability to connect with a wide variety of different people - but online and real world are totally different beasts. Here we can be honest and share so much because we have trust in those around us to be supportive - but in the real world everything can turn to shite very quickly when we don't get that same level of trust that we have here. Learning to interact with others offline involves so much more than words and if we have had 'bad' experiences in our socialisation at a younger age both that social interaction and trust become so much harder for us.

Re: rough time

thanks @Zoe7 i like honesty. being mature is both a blessing and a curse i think. its helped me alot but also made things harder esp wih interacting with others.
one of my jobs i think has helped me a little bit and might continue to help me to because the people im around are also a variety of ages. none really my age per say but youngish adults, some teenagers and also young kids so i can interact with all sorts of ages.
yes i agree things can go to shite very quickly, it took me a long while to trust on here and its even harder offline esp since most of my interactions have been more negative when its come to talking to others so ive learnt to be quiet and be the observer rather then talking.
i know others here have had the same sort of things happening to with interactions and socialising.
i want to get better at things though like stepping back from my roles that arent 'mine', interacting with others better and trying to manage my own physical and mental health better too.

Re: rough time

The WANT to do those things is the first start @outlander

Re: rough time

I hope you were able to get back to sleep @outlander 💜💖😴

Its such a terrible feeling, I know.

I always sleep with a little light on in another room, so I’m not in darkness if it happens.

I usually get up and walk around the house to try and calm down and also so I don’t go straight back into the nightmare.

Then I lie back down and deep breathe until I calm down.

Now I’m going to try and get back to sleep.
