It is heartwrenching @BlueBay I remember very clearly seeing my Nan deteriorate and how hard that was but she was awake and alert up until the last few days so knew we were there and could respond to us talking to her. Your hubby and you haven't had that chance with your MIL but I would like to believe that even with her dementia she knew you were there.

I hope so @Zoe7 i hope she knows she was loved by us all. She has been a big part of our lives (20 years). That’s a long time to have someone else live in our home.
It was a big commitment and pressure at times.

Pushing ourselves to do things we do not feel like to do is empowering @BlueBay Whether hubby is home or not it is ultimately only you who can get yourself out to walk. It does not have to be a long walk but just getting out with your music on and even with A for company is a start.
This is part of your self-sabotage behaviour and leads to you feeling even worse so start small and build up from there again.
