Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Dear @Emelia8 ,

i was sad and concerned to read this post, but I feel very heartened that so many people are giving you positives and love. Post surgery can be an awful phase, I find the effects of an anaesthetic can takes ages to fully wear off and can be quite depressing agents.  So give it time.

i understand why you are worried about the pathology results, but just try to manage one day at a time, that is all we have, the present moment, not next week. The movement and pain will improve,

there is so much else going on for you, that will be compounding your recovery and feelings and your recovery and worries will be making your grief worse.

my lovely step father died in Victoria in July and I could not see him in his last few weeks or be with my sister and brothers at his funeral, I still feel very removed from it and I don’t think it will be real until I can go to Melbourne and realise that he is not there to cook me meal and pour me a glass of wine.

i understand that you are in the right place for depression to really set in, but please don’t, find a way to resist it.  Keep little abbey close and find one beautiful thing each day. A flower, a picture the sky, anything.  And read the lovely posts and know they are truly meant.

Not sleeping doesn’t help, I am sure you know tricks about hot drinks and stuff. And TAKE your pain relief

love Peri

Hi @Emelia8

We all care about you so much - it is hard recovering from surgery and if this was even one of a couple of issues happening in your life right now it would be hard yards - but you have a truck load of things happening - and you seem so alone

We care though - I care - I have had enough operations in my time to know there is always a low time afterwards - our bodies need to heal and they take our energy to do it and this feels to me like low-tide - I know the tide will come in again but it takes time - and the more I write in this forum the more I realise that time and breathing are basic, fundamental and honest - and we buck it

Some people have left wonderful pictures here - I am going to take a moment to see if I can find one to send you - there are millions of times when clipart is fantastic fun - and times when only beauty does it

I love the ocean - I have not seen it since last year when I flew back after 2 weeks in Cairns - I am so glad I had that two weeks - I am so glad I have those memories. I would love to take you there myself - and I am reminded of a wonderful memory - when I was flying into land at Cairns at the beginning of my holiday I saw a whale with her calf in the waters near the shore and I thought I was imagining it but it was true - there was a cow with her calf out of season and many people had searched and she was hard to find - I saw it from a 737 when I wasn't looking. I love to have memories like that and to also share them

@Emelia8 - just getting in your face with tthis penguins hug, cause wanna know how it's all going. You did say the media report on Armed forces has triggered your man, causing you to withdraw  a little, be a "smaller target" around him 😞 when you need support yourself. Do talk here. Was it last Wednesday or next that you find out if it spread to the lymph glands? Hope we didn't miss this important pivotal moment - please talk about it. Are, I should talk, if my skin biopsy comes back as melanoma next week - I've decided not to worry anyone, not in real life, not until I actually look sick, which hopefully will never happen. Bit of a worry though when the specialist says "I actually don't know WHAT that is! I'm gonna have to biopsy it" 😗 then say "but don't worry about it" Yeah, right ok... But you know the drill. I remember how over the top anxious I felt when they had to biopsy my first breast pump, which came back clear. I cried on and off for a week, made myself so sick with worry, unnecessarily, but you, vyoure living the nightmare and I feel for you. Hope the Lord sustains you in those wee small hours when you think you can take anymore. Really hope you're getting some practical love and support irl. Hugz 💐💜🌿

@Emelia8 You have so much happening and so much to deal with. I do hope that the news is good for you this week and you can move through this with a little more hope Heart

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

@Emelia8  thinking of you...I was sorry to read that you are a target for your husband's anger about the war crimes report. 😞 I hope you are coping OK, and that your pain levels continue to decrease... Sending Heart
