Appleblossom, oh no - forgetting psych apt. It does frustrate them. Keeping apts, remembering things, is one of the first things that lapse when I'm struggling (think they'd know that drr). My last psychologist always thanked me for actually turning up (so many didn't apparently) was weird as I so far have always managed to let her know ahead of time when I cancel.. Hope yours stays nice, it would be the professional response, try not to worry. I'm glad you are supporting your son - that's important.
? How do I access the sane blog re boundaries - sounds interesting.
Sorry your brothers terminal illness is taking its toll on you - good you have insight / awareness and watching out for your own limits too, protecting yourself. Something that might help you - when my mum was first diagnosed terminal, and two friends at the same time, it really rocked me which I didn't understand - I rang cancer council - they actually gave me x4 free phone counselling sessions with a psychologist, and mailed me info including relaxation exercises on CD. I was surprised the service is for anyone affected by cancer, not just those with cancer. I still use the CDs.
Also, You seem quite learned on MH and legal matters, so didnt want to trouble you but wanted to ask your opinion on the new NSW police unit combining with mental health to target and detain 'fixated' people who make threats (potential lone wolf attacks...). I posted the article in What's New, Research... thread re privacy concerns... But you don't go there if not up to it, I understand that boundary.
Love your saying - 'Gentleigh Bentleigh' (?spelling), back at you forum friend ❤
lisajane, think I understand re faith thing, just see it as me saying I care and and wish I could do more. Your avatar looks so sad. Hang in there ❤

Thanks @Former-Member
I stumbled on the blog ... @Former-Member might be able to help.
The funny thing is I grew that saying out of an anecdote ... when some well heeled people were talking about the difficulty of backing a real old Bentleigh car .. down a driveway ... gently with the Bentleigh ... and then with kids I said it as a rhyming thing to settle .. them .. it did not have a spelling then ... I started spelling it that way on here.
I used to be OCD about spelling so it was actually good for me to make my own spelling up.
Cheers
No not well enough to do activist type stuff ... just about to log off
See you around.

@Appleblossom - am glad you are getting your own space. It is good to have that, have the alone time. Thinking of you xx

@Appleblossom I love the idea of you singing, your son playing Bach... it's all so moving. Now @Anony18 being offered a solo part... i can see that all tying together to have our own little theatre group to bring popcorn to and dress up in our feathers and 20s pomp... doing the charleston Great Gatsby style... ( the Robert Redford version).
@Anony18 I know, just really wanting you to have a nice weekend and a break from it all 🙂 You deserve it so much.

@Spookytookims - ohhh gotta leave now. I ended up buying some chicken kebabs from woolies and beef patty. Keep it simple haha. Well i have a solo for like maybe 10-15 secs haha. I had a little solo as well in my "It's Raining Men" Jazz dance last year. I know my teachers say the energy I give out (or something like that) is what is "attractive" and it helps that I can pick up the choreography fairly easy.
Awww shucks thanks my @Spookytookims - I think I need to be on a constant break 24/7 these days. Will try not too think too much about it all. It probably be easy during the day when have company and enjoying the scenery but the night time when I am laying down in my Air bed & sleeping bag may be difficult. I will try to see if I pop by the forums though. I charged up 2 powerbanks - let's see how long that lasts me haha.

Hi Peoples, been doing a big catch up with posts after being out all day. Hubby and I combined a morning "business trip" with a nice day out. Lunch in a cafe, and browsing assorted forms of second hand shops in the op shop to not-too-fussy antique shop range. Also foraged a bagful of japonica quinces (the fruit of the flowering Japanese Quince). They make a fantastic tangy jelly, good on sandwiches (or scones... saved your recipe @Faith-and-Hope, ta) but really great with poultry, pork or lamb... and we've nearly run out of our last batch. Would probably taste good on goat too, but haven't got any in the freezer...heehehee, I started something there. 😄

@Determined, I've made butter too. Used to make it all the time, nowadays I only do it for special occasions. We don't have access to fresh from the cow cream, so I buy cream for it, usually from the "reduced to clear" part of the supermarket fridge. Still tastes great. Really don't know why it's better than bought butter, but it definitely is.
@Anony18, hope you really enjoy your camp out. Sounds like there's been some yummy cooking ideas. I don't think anyone's mentioned the simple one of wrapping a potato in foil and baking it in the coals? Poke it with a skewer to make sure it's soft all the way through before eating. Also works with sweet potato, and they cook a bit faster, especially if you use the little ones.
Wish I could see you dancing. Two of our kids are keen on dance, and the older one wants to be a professional performer. He's leaning more towards the acting side of performance, but enjoys dance too. He was in the chorus line for a musical last year and loved that. He did both dance and drama in VCE and got high performance marks... I think he's got what it takes to give it a serious try. 🙂
